Study abroad planning

How to compare universities: look beyond ranking tables.

Rankings can be one signal, but a student decision also depends on the actual course, tuition, location, entry requirements, teaching format and support.

Compare the exact course

Two universities can rank differently overall while the specific course, placement structure or specialisation you need points the other way.

Compare net cost

Use tuition after any confirmed scholarship, then add realistic living and travel costs. A lower percentage scholarship can still produce a lower final cost.

Check provider support

Read international-student support, careers, accommodation and academic-support information on the provider’s own website.

Verify before applying

For Australia, verify the course/provider on CRICOS. For other destinations, use the relevant official regulator or government study portal where available.
