Student visa (subclass 500)

The Student visa is administered by the Australian Department of Home Affairs. Requirements can change, so use the current Student visa page for eligibility, documents, charges and conditions.

Confirmation of Enrolment

After accepting an eligible offer and completing the institution's enrolment process, students generally need a Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) for the visa application. Follow the provider's current process and the current Home Affairs document checklist.

Genuine Student requirement

The Genuine Student requirement asks applicants to explain their circumstances, why they want the course and provider in Australia, and how the study will benefit them. Answers should reflect your own evidence and history. Use the Sydmandu GS workspace to organise a draft.

Financial capacity
